In my photo sessions, I aim to create a space where people can show themselves as they truly are – no pressure, no prescriptions. No comparison to others – you are who you are. Of course, every session remains a staged situation. But my goal is to make genuine moments felt within it. This is how images emerge that come close to what one might call authentic photos – honest, approachable and full of spirit.

I’m a photographer and a musician – two worlds that are inseparable for me. As in music, the best in my photography happens when structure and improvisation meet.
For more than twenty years I’ve been photographing people – musicians, artists, actors, CEOs. Along the way, I’ve learned that true, moving images come not from perfection, but from atmosphere. My photo sessions follow no set formula; they are living processes where personality gets to show itself. Quick, intuitive, precise – always with the right sense for the decisive moment.

Over the years, my work has been featured in numerous magazines and publications – including Der Spiegel, Die Zeit, Brigitte, Stern and Geo Saison. One early project remains especially memorable: the first full-color double-page spread in Der Spiegel, published in 1996. In addition to editorial features, I’ve also completed numerous assignments for renowned companies such as Lufthansa, Daimler Chrysler, Deutsche Bahn and American Express. Many of these images have found their way into both editorial and corporate contexts – sometimes subtle, sometimes striking, but always with integrity.

FAQ
Where does the shoot take place?
Wherever you like – ideally at a place where you feel comfortable. That could be your home, your favorite café, a rehearsal space, or simply your favorite spot. I can also photograph you in a studio atmosphere at my own atelier.
What should I wear?
An outfit that makes you feel great and matches your style as a musician. Muted tones often work well, but you can just as well show up in your full 70s psychedelic look – you should be yourself! We’ll coordinate briefly beforehand, and depending on your shooting package, you might bring along a few options.
How long does a shoot take?
That depends on the package you choose. A photo session usually lasts between 60 and 120 minutes. If you’d like to do a short trial session beforehand, that’s also possible – we can talk about all the details.
What if I don’t like the photos?
No worries – with me, every shoot comes with a satisfaction guarantee. And I mean that sincerely. During the session, we coordinate in real time. If you like, you can look over my shoulder and get a good sense of where we’re heading together. You’ll receive a pre-selection of the images and choose which ones you’d like to have edited. This way, you get exactly the photos you love. If you’re not happy with my selection, you’ll receive an extended set to choose from. And if you can clearly express what you generally didn’t like about the photos, I offer a short follow-up shoot for €75.
How much does a photo shoot cost?
Prices depend on the package you choose. Just take a look at my overview of offers. If none of them seem right for you, feel free to contact me for a custom quote.
How can I pay?
You can pay by bank transfer, PayPal, or in cash on site. For larger shoots, a deposit may be required.
When and how will I receive my photos?
After the shoot, I’ll provide you with a pre-selection on my gallery server within 48 hours, where you can choose your favorites. The final edited images will then be delivered as high-resolution digital files within five days.
Can I use the photos for social media, my website, or press purposes?
Yes, you’ll receive the images with full usage rights for your brand website and social media. The specific usage rights are linked to your chosen shooting package. If you have individual needs, just let me know.
FOR MUSICIANS
The stage is fine, but I often feel uneasy in front of the camera. Can you help me feel more comfortable?
Yes, absolutely! We’ll take our time so you can get comfortable with the camera. Our photo shoot unfolds a bit like a jazz jam session – we start off relaxed, find our flow, and create space where your personality can shine through. Maybe we’ll begin with a few test shots. You’re very welcome to bring your instrument – and most importantly, your favorite music, the perfect soundtrack for our shoot!
Can I bring my instrument?
Definitely! Other personal items can also be part of the shoot and help create authentic images.
Are there special offers for music students?
Yes! I offer discounted sessions for students and newcomers. My “Billie” shooting deal might be the perfect fit for you.
I really like your concert photos — would you come to my gig as well?
Gladly! I’m always genuinely interested in what you’re doing on stage and how your music sounds. That’s why you’ll often find me in jazz clubs – and when I’m there, I usually end up taking photos, too. You might even get lucky and catch me at one of your gigs. But of course, you can also book me specifically for your concert – then I’ll definitely be there, whether it’s for one set, the whole evening, or even during soundcheck. Having great live photos in your portfolio really sets you apart. If you’d like to combine that with your Jazz Portrait Deal, we can put together a tailored offer. The price for this ranges between €150 and €300, with a newcomer discount available upon request!
